In this project, we partnered with Kuehne + Nagel to train a women’s group and provide starter packs like beehives and tree seedlings. Our goal was to restore land and biodiversity while creating dignified, nature-based income for rural women.

In 2024, in Wokukiri Village (Mbale District), we delivered a practical restoration package to 15 women. Following hands-on training in beekeeping, apiary management, and tree care, the group received:
• 10 Kenya Top-Bar (KTB) beehives
• 1,500 multipurpose trees (nectar/shade species)

Under this project, we also planted 30 fruit trees with Mbuya Church of Uganda Primary School in Kampala; and 200 trees with Bethany Land Institute in Luwero

This collaboration jump-started sustainable livelihoods, strengthened women’s leadership in local conservation and restoration, environmental education for children and boosted pollination and habitat health.
